Now, it is a little bit of catch up time. Nate’s birthday was on August 8th. He was so excited and could hardly wait for the special day to arrive. Uncle John visited the Saturday before and presented Nate with his very first monster truck remote control. It was a big hit. In fact, he wants to take it tomorrow to school for show and tell.
On Nate’s actual birthday, I had a bit of a cold and was trying to recover. Nate got cards and money in the mail from the wonderful grandmas. But he had to wait for his present from mom and dad. It was being shipped, but it did not arrive until Tuesday. But on Monday we did go out to Dion’s for dinner and have a white cake with skittles all over it – per Nate’s request.
The next day, the package came and Nate got a wii game that he can play on his own and a shape sorting game. Nate has always been great at puzzles and this game is challenging, but he is having fun trying to figure things out. I love to see his mind at work.
We usually have parties when a child turns 5, but we have not had a chance to make it happen yet. Maybe we will still make it work, or maybe we will just have to wait until next year. Nate does not seem to care that much, but I know that he would love to have a great play day with his friends.
Nate – you are so awesome – and we are so glad that you are part of our family.
