Birthday girl!

Our youngest has now turned 3 and she was in birthday heaven.  We kept talking about the fact that her birthday was coming up and she was very excited.  To be honest, I think she thought the whole week was her birthday.

On Reagan’s actual birthday, we decided to go to the park and then to go swimming in the evening.  We had a fun morning at the park, but it was very hot.  We were missing Corey because he went to see Harry Potter with his friends at the theater.   We played tennis and Eric and Nate were excited to roller skate.  Nate had skates on that were way too big, so it did not last long.   Reagan was having a great time swinging and playing of the play ground.

We went home and I made sure to put her down for a nap so that she could be in a good mood the rest of the day.  At 6:00, we went off to Sandia for quarter night.  The kids had a lot of fun, especially playing with their dad in the water.  Jake does not really like to go swimming, but he puts up with it for the kids and has a good time.

After swimming, we hit golden pride for a little dinner and then returned home for some more birthday celebrations.  We had lemon poppy seed cake and got to the presents.  Reagan got some wooden fruit and desserts that have velcro and you can cut apart.  She also got a little doctor set and she was so excited to get the bag that all of the doctor stuff went in.  She then proceeded to put everything in the bag and tote it around proudly.  Aunt Sarah and Justin came by to bring her a card and gift card.  The card played music and she loves it.

The next day, the birthday fun continued as Uncle John came and gave Reagan her first barbie (at least her first new barbie).  She was thrilled and has been playing with it ever since.  Grandma Joan sent a wonderful jumper that she made and Reagan proudly wore it to church the next day and told everyone that Gramma Joan made it for her.   She also got a picture card and money from Grandma and Grandpa Boyack.  She loved seeing all of the pictures.

It was fun to watch the interaction between Reagan and John.  She was thrilled to have someone give her so much attention.  John played dolls with her, he read to her, he carted her around as an airplane and Uncle John was a great sport and basically did everything she wanted to do.  I was telling him how nice it was because Reagan is a full time job and I actually got to get some things done.  What a change!

John had called the night before and he talked with Reagan on the phone.  She kept talking and pointing to her cake and telling Uncle John all sorts of random things.  John asked to talk to Nate and Reagan said, “No, let’s talk about me!” Oh no, we are really in trouble with this little girl.

Reagan is indeed a lucky little girl who has so many people who love her and I am so thankful that she is a part of our family.  We love you little girl!
